Holiday subsidies

Subsidies from the University Social Benefits Fund are granted for the following forms of holiday:

  1. ORGANISED HOLIDAY
    – holidays at the University of Warsaw holiday facilities (the „Bajka” Holiday Home in Łukęcin, the „Szeligówka” Holiday Home in Kościelisko);
    – holidays and stays in sanatoriums booked with other institutions authorised to organise recreational activities;
    – summer, winter and other camp stays booked with other institutions authorised to organise recreational activities for children;
  2. PRIVATELY ARRANGED HOLIDAY/TOURIST HOLIDAY

Holiday subsidy applications should be submitted upon conclusion of 14 consecutive days of annual leave in a given calendar year via the application, available at: DocSense Document Management System – will be opened in a new window or at the Office for Personnel Social Benefits by no later than 31 December of a given year – the date of receipt shall be decisive:

  • applications submitted by 5 December will be considered and processed in the calendar year to which they relate;
  • applications submitted after 5 December will be considered and processed in the calendar year to which they relate;
  • employees who take 14 consecutive days of annual leave after 5 December of a given year should submit an application before the leave is taken.

HOLIDAYS OF UW EMPLOYEES

Eligible beneficiaries of the subsidy include full-time or part-time employees working under an appointment or a permanent or fixed-term employment contract as well as employees on annual, maternity, parental or childcare leaves.

Eligible UW employees can:

  1. Spend holiday at University of Warsaw facilities:
  • “Bajka” Holiday Home in Łukęcin
  • “Szeligówka” Holiday Home in Kościelisko

APPLICATIONS:

As of 6 March 2023, employees (including working pensioners and disability pensioners) can apply to spend a holiday at the listed facilities only by completing an online form. For this purpose, an application was launched, which is available at:  DocSense Document Management System – will be opened in a new window

  1. Benefit from a subsidy for holiday booked with other institution authorised to organise recreational activities.

Pursuant to the Ordinance No. 291 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw of 21 December 2020, the base amount for subsidising organised holidays booked individually for eligible persons in 2024 is PLN 2,268.00/gross.

In order for the holiday to be subsidised, it should last a minimum of 7 days.

The original invoice/receipt issued by the entity authorised to organise the recreational activities should be attached to the subsidy application. The invoice/receipt issued in the name of the applicant should also include:

  • the names and surnames of the persons benefiting from the holiday;
  • the unit price for each person listed;
  • the dates of stay.

  1. Benefit from a subsidy for privately arranged holiday

UW employees can apply for a subsidy for a privately arranged holiday after using 14 consecutive days of leave, which includes annual leave days, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and other public holidays.

HOLIDAYS OF UW PENSIONERS AND DISABILITY PENSIONERS

Pensioners and disability pensioners of the University of Warsaw, who have terminated their employment contracts with the University of Warsaw due to their retirement or receiving a disability pension can:

  1. Spend holiday at University of Warsaw facilities:
  • “Bajka” Holiday Home in Łukęcin
  • “Szeligówka” Holiday Home in Kościelisko

  1. Benefit from a subsidy for holiday booked with other institution authorised to organise recreational activities.

HOLIDAYS OF UW DOCTORAL STUDENTS

Participants of full-time doctoral studies at the University of Warsaw, enrolled before the academic year 2019/2020 and doctoral students studying at doctoral schools, before they reach the age of 35 are entitled to benefit from the following forms of holiday subsidy:

  1. Spend holiday at University of Warsaw facilities:
  • “Bajka” Holiday Home in Łukęcin
  • “Szeligówka” Holiday Home in Kościelisko

APPLICATIONS:
