1.  SUBSIDY FOR THE PRIVATELY ARRANGED HOLIDAYS (“HOLIDAYS UNDER THE PEAR TREE”) AND HOLIDAYS BOOKED WITH OTHER INSTITUTIONS

1.1   General/important information

Detailed rules for granting benefits are set out in the University Social Benefits Fund Rules and Regulations (Chapter IV) [Rules and Regulations]

1.2   Holidays of a University of Warsaw employee

  • In a given calendar year, an employee may benefit from one form of holiday subsidy, selected by them.
  • The employee may receive a subsidy for the so-called “holiday under the pear tree” after having taken 14 consecutive days of leave (including, inter alia, public holidays and weekends). A prerequisite for receiving the benefit is the submission of an application via the DocSense system or in paper form at the Office for Personnel Social Benefits.
  • The employee may receive a subsidy for organised holidays booked with other institutions. The benefit shall be granted to persons who submit an application via the DocSense system or in paper form at the Office for Personnel Social Benefits and attach an invoice which:
    • is issued in the applicant’s name;
    • includes information confirming that the invoice relates to organised holidays or privately arranged ones (mandatory for this form);
    • includes information on the duration of the stay – a minimum of 7 nights;
    • includes information on the unit price per person whose stay is to be subsidised;
    • includes confirmation that the invoice has been paid.
  • In the event that the employee makes use of subsidised holiday at University of Warsaw holiday centres during the season, they shall not be entitled to receive the above-mentioned benefits in the given calendar year. Further information on holidays stays at the University of Warsaw holiday centres is available in the “Recreation in UW facilities” section.

1.3 Holidays of UW pensioner/disability pensioner

  • In a given calendar year, a pensioner/disability pensioner may benefit from one form of holiday subsidy, selected by them.
  • The pensioner/disability pensioner may apply for a subsidy for the so-called “holiday under the pear tree” once per calendar year. A prerequisite is the submission of the relevant application to the Office for Personnel Social Benefits.
  • The pensioner/disability pensioner may receive a subsidy for organised holiday booked with other institution. The benefit shall be granted to persons who submit an application in paper form at the Office for Personnel Social Benefits and attach an invoice which:
    • is issued in the applicant’s name;
    • includes information confirming that the invoice relates to organised holidays or privately arranged ones (mandatory for this form);
    • includes information on the duration of the stay – a minimum of 7 nights;
    • includes information on the unit price per person whose stay is to be subsidised;
    • includes confirmation that the invoice has been paid.

  • In a given calendar year, a doctoral student may benefit from one form of holiday subsidy, selected by them.
  • The doctoral student may receive a subsidy for organised holiday booked with other institution. The benefit shall be granted to persons who submit an application in paper form at the Office for Personnel Social Benefits and attach an invoice which:
    • is issued in the applicant’s name;
    • includes information confirming that the invoice relates to organised holidays or privately arranged ones (mandatory for this form);
    • includes information on the duration of the stay – a minimum of 7 nights;
    • includes information on the unit price per person whose stay is to be subsidised;
    • includes confirmation that the invoice has been paid.
  • In the event that the employee makes use of subsidised holiday at University of Warsaw holiday centres during the season, they shall not be entitled to receive the above-mentioned benefits in the given calendar year. 2.  RECREATION IN UW FACILITIES

2.1  General/important information

The Office for Personnel Social Benefits invites you to take advantage of holiday stays at the following facilities:

  • “Bajka” Holiday Home in Łukęcin
  • Holiday Home “Szeligówka” in Kościelisko
  • “Wrzos” Holiday Home in Kościelisko

 

Registration periods and price lists are published in holiday announcements, which are updated on an ongoing basis for the relevant period of the year, on the BSSOC website and on information boards at the Office premises.

2.2   Holidays of UW employee

  • The employee may be granted a holiday stay upon submission of the relevant application via the DocSense system.
  • The employee may benefit from a subsidy for their own holiday or that of their child (eligible dependant) at the above-mentioned Centres:
    • off-season, for a maximum period of 30 days within a calendar year;
    • during the season, with the loss of the entitlement to any other form of subsidy, i.e. so-called “holiday under the pear tree” or a subsidy for organised holiday booked with other institution;
    • during the season, by making a reservation no more than 7 days prior to the departure date, solely in the event of availability of vacant places.
  • The allocation of places shall be decided by the Committee. Employees are obliged to check feedback provided in the DocSense system.

2.3  Holidays of UW pensioner/disability pensioner

  • The pensioner/disability pensioner may be granted a holiday stay upon submission of the relevant application via the DocSense system. A preliminary reservation may be made by e-mail.
  • The pensioner/disability pensioner may benefit from a subsidy for their own holiday or that of their child (eligible dependant) at the above-mentioned Centres:
    • off-season, for a maximum period of 30 days within a calendar year;
    • during the season, with the loss of the entitlement to any other form of subsidy, i.e. so-called “holiday under the pear tree” or a subsidy for organised holiday booked with other institution;
    • during the season, by making a reservation no more than 7 days prior to the departure date, solely in the event of availability of vacant places.
    • The allocation of places shall be decided by the Committee;
  • In the event that the social tax cannot be deducted, the beneficiary shall be required to pay the tax individually; relevant information shall be provided by the employees of the Office of Personnel Social Benefits or the University of Warsaw Bursar’s Office.

2.4  Holidays of UW doctoral student

  • The doctoral student may be granted a holiday stay upon submission of the relevant application via the DocSense system.
  • The doctoral student may benefit from a subsidy for their own holiday or that of their child (eligible dependant) at the above-mentioned Centres:

    • during the season, with the loss of the entitlement to any other form of subsidy, i.e. a subsidy for organised holiday booked with other institution;
    • during the season, by making a reservation no more than 7 days prior to the departure date, solely in the event of availability of vacant places.
