1. GENERAL INFORMATION
- University Social Benefits Fund Rules and Regulations: within the scope specified in the Rules and Regulations, all employees, pensioners, disability pensioners of the University of Warsaw as well as UW doctoral students may receive a holiday subsidy for their children’s recreation Chapter IV – Principles for subsidising various forms of recreation].
- Who is eligible to receive it? Financial support shall be granted to the eligible persons listed below:

- children of employees, pensioners and disability pensioners of the University of Warsaw;
- children of doctoral candidates of the University of Warsaw;
- children of deceased employees, pensioners and disability pensioners of the University of Warsaw.
- “Children”: shall be understood as dependants of the eligible person, including the person’s own child, whether from birth, adopted or under parental guardianship in a foster family.
- Age of the child:
- until the end of the year in which they reach the age of 18,
- by the end of the year in which they reach the age of 25, if they continue their education at school, at full-time and part-time first-cycle, second-cycle or long-cycle studies until completion of their education, upon submission of a certificate confirming attendance at school or university;
- regardless of age – a child with a disability, who, due to his/her illness, requires permanent or long-term care and assistance of another person due to significantly reduced ability to lead an independent life – upon presentation of a certificate from an institution authorised to declare the degree of disability.
- Applications may be submitted in paper form at the Office premises or electronically via the DocSense.

- Required documents to be attached to the application:
- a certificate confirming education – required after the child reaches 18 years of age;
- an invoice/receipt for organised holidays booked with other institutions;
- a disability certificate – e.g. in the case of additional subsidy.
- Holiday announcements shall be published on the website of the Office for Personnel Social Benefits (NEWS tab) and on the notice boards at the Office premises.

2. FORMS OF RECREATION
IMPORTANT: Eligible children of employees, pensioners, disability pensioners and doctoral students of the University of Warsaw may benefit from one of the following forms of holiday subsidy:
2.1 Holiday subsidies for children – so-called “holiday under the pear tree”
- for children of UW employees/ pensioners/ disability pensioners,
- for children of deceased UW employees, pensioners and disability pensioners
Required supporting documents to be attached to the application: for children over 18 years of age – a certificate confirming education; or a child’s disability certificate, regardless of age.
2.2 Subsidy for summer, winter and other camp stays of children booked with other institutions
- for children of UW employees/ pensioners/ disability pensioners,
- for children of UW doctoral students,
- for children of deceased UW employees, pensioners and disability pensioners
In order for the holiday to be subsidised, it should last a minimum of 7 days.
The invoice/receipt issued by the entity authorised to organise the recreational activities should be attached to the subsidy application.
The invoice/receipt issued in the name of the applicant (or the applicant’s spouse) must include:
- the first and last name(s) of the person(s) whose holiday stay is to be subsidised;
- information confirming that the stay concerns organised holidays / holiday stays or stays in summer, winter or other camps;
- information on the duration of the stay (a minimum of 7 nights);
- information on the unit price per person whose stay is to be subsidised;
- information confirming that the invoice/receipt has been paid.
IMPORTANT:
The UW employees, UW pensioners and UW disability pensioners who have a child with a disability
under their care may, in a given calendar year, apply for one additional subsidy for organised holidays of that child.
(The following documents must be attached to the application: an invoice/receipt, a certificate confirming education if the child has reached 18 years of age, and a disability certificate.)
